for children

When I moved to Japan in 2014, the idea was for me to stay only a couple of years, instead I ended up staying for 8 years. During those years I worked at an international school, teaching only music first and then after a few years becoming a main teacher. Together with my assistant, I looked after K3 level children while teaching phonics, math, science, art and more, starting to draw illustrations for children.

My musical background, my love for arts and Japan had brought me to this school and it gave this great opportunity. I had the chance to get to know so many wonderful people, my colleagues, the children and their parents, in a very open-minded environment. It was a great chance to learn about other cultures and different ways of thinking. Working with children has been an amazing experience: they let me in their world and I had the chance to see things through their eyes, while thinking and preparing projects for them to enjoy.

about myself

my story

Born in 1987 in Padua, Italy, I did many different things that eventually led me on the path I am today. Since I was small I loved DIY, drawings and all kinds of art activities. I kept drawing all my life and all that I’ve learned is mostly self-taught. I studied piano for 8 years at the conservatory of music Cesare Pollini in Padua and even though I ended up choosing a different type of career, music still holds a special place in my heart.

Being a great lover of all things Japanese, after getting my high school degree in 2006 I enrolled in the oriental languages course of studies at Ca’ Foscari Venice University. I studied mainly Japan’s culture and Japanese language, getting first a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s degree and graduating with full marks. In 2009 as a university student  I got into an exchange program and lived and studied for a short period of time in Kyoto in Japan. It was a great experience and my love for Japan only kept growing after that.

Illustrations and other things i love

They are a lot! But if I had to choose, I would say: drawing, traveling, DIY and love for animals.

Illustrations for children

Both on paper and digitally, and with many colors! I love to illustrate and I am always ready to test new drawing tools and to free my imagination!

DIY

Acronym for “do it yourself”, means imagining an object and making it concrete using your own hands. It’s a fantastic experience and regardless of the outcome, the creative process alone is worth it.

Travel

It is by traveling that I have discovered a lot about myself and opened my eyes to wonderful cultures and people. Traveling is beautiful and every journey has a lot to teach

Animals

As a child I had a lot of books on animals and even now i still today watch a lot of documentaries. There is so much to learn and so much to love. It is no coincidence that many of the Wonderland characters are actually animals!
